Thanks, that's what I was hoping to hear. The 240 is already set up with a 30amp breaker so I should be ok. The Electrician will be extending it to where the compressor will be located as well as my Bend Pak lift at the same time he is running service for a backup generator.

So the compressor turns over but my 5600 watt generator is kicking the breaker as the compressor tries to get going. From what I am reading it should not be an issue once I have it connected to a dedicated 240v circuit in the garage. Any thoughts or advice on this?

Well, I got the compressor now. I just need to get it hooked up and test it. It’s a 3hp 230 volt single phase motor. It has a red, black, green and blue wire. It looks like the blue wire was not used as it’s not been stripped like the other three wires. I wasn’t there when it was disconnected so...

Hopefully it works better than the old Craftsman 25 gallon oil-less 110 unit I have been using. It constantly runs an pops the breaker a lot too.
