Even as a young boy I was always interested in electronics, in 1970 I would have been 9 years old so it was the tube type electronics. After high school I worked for a drywall contractor for a couple of years, shortly after that I started a drywall company in Portland, Oregon. I was owner operator in that company for 15+ years, always running a small mechanical business, called Radar’s Mechanical Service. We provided specialty Electronics repair on automobiles during the early feedback carb. day’s on many cars. We eventually phased out the drywall business, and operated another 5 years repairing electronics on many vehicles. Around the 5-year mark my wife of 12 years, decided to divorce me, this ended up being a world war three ordeal that lasted a year. My properties were ******* during this time, there was a local Heavy Equipment dealer that had been trying to hire me for my electrical ability, and I hitched up with them around 1993. I have held numerous jobs for there company including, Service Manager, Shop Foreman, Field Service Manager, Field Mechanic, currently I run the Engine Rebuild Department for them. I still am called into the field and shop for upper end technical problems related to hydraulics, and the electronic control systems for hydraulics. I also run a remanufacturing facility involved in the rebuild of control units used in hydraulic excavators.
