My grandfather's Craftsman 6517 toolbox from the '50s

I have the same box, but not in as good condition as yours (missing the right latch). Very cool find, especially with the family history behind it!

    Show Your Heritage Logo Love

Thanks for the advice. I was able to get a bit more of the black off the emblem, but it appears that either time, or the paint that was used, took its toll on the original colors as there appears to be not much left. For now, I think I will leave it and just concentrate on getting the box...

    Show Your Heritage Logo Love

I was able to score this box recently and have a couple questions for the heritage gurus: The boxes I have seen in pictures that appear to be of the same size as this one all have a "ribbed" front (wings?), whereas this one is flat. Does this one still fit into the 1950-1960 time frame? From...

    Show your "Long C" Craftsman!

My latest finds consisting of offset box end wrenches and a P3 screwdriver: The screwdriver is probably my favorite as I have never seen one in person before ("open" C with circle I):

The Vintage New Britain and Associated Thread!

My first NB ratchet (NS40) from a "nearby" auction. For a coarse-tooth ratchet, it operates very smoothly. A true beast of a ratchet. I can't wait to get it cleaned up and start the hunt for some sockets to match.

Unusual pair of Vise Grips on eBay

So it just happens that I won one of these in an auction over this past weekend, and a quick Google search brought me here. Other than a few spritzes of apc, I haven't touched them as of yet: The profile certainly fits the gutter usage mentioned earlier.

Carlyle (NAPA) 3 Pc. Wire Stripper Pliers Set (Includes WSCCP) - $42.60 (was $141.99)

Thans for posting this one, SweetD. I bit the bullet and ordered a set today...looking forward to checking them out. I'm not sure if everyone is aware, but there are numerous cash back portals that when paired with your favorite credit card, help sweeten the deal a bit.

Benchmark Abrasives - Free 10 pack (shipping cost only)

Odd...I'm not ordering a second pack, but I just went back and added it to my cart and the discount applied correctly again. FWIW, I used Chrome (desktop).

    CAT tools

Just curious as the latest 2024 catalog I looked through does not show an equivalent to the LN46ACF or LN47ACF. Has anyone inquired with their local store if CAT has version yet?
