    Help Supporting Overhead Shelf

I did the same thing but instead of the cable I used All Thread rods which I had a lot of.

    Snap On tools

Yes I planned to back out if family pressure came up. I was thinking last night a Vo Tech or High School donation too. Thought of helping a young guy starting out but afraid trying to find someone that will "actually" put them to use will be hard to determine. I had thought 25% to 30 % of list...

    Snap On tools

Guys I really appreciate your suggestions. So much to consider. I know my buddy told her to have me help but with him out of the picture, members of the family may push her into another direction. I've always tried to avoid these situations but we were friends for 58 years so I have to try.

    Snap On tools

Yesterday one of my very best friends passed in his sleep. His wife wants me to help sell his tools. He has a lot of SO from what I'm guessing the 70's and 80's when he turned wrenches. No fancy boxes, just tools stuck everywhere. Some boxes of sets. I'm not a SO person. How best do I handle...

    Rust Removal

Shortly after I did the clamps, I became the better half's sole caregiver. I've only been in the shop a couple times since just to check on things. I'm sure I did rinse but really can't remember for sure. Sorry

    File handles deserve respect, too!

Ed I really like those file handles. When shaping stocks with 10" files and rasps they balance the tool very well. Other than these I like the Lutz for everything else.

    painting raised letters

I've only done one vise. I took a smooth file and flatten the tops of the letters slightly. I then used a quality artist brush. Next time I'll try the padding method as has been suggested.

    Rust Removal

I did a test run of 5 very rusty C-Clamps, left over night. Used a med wire brush on the grinder, they came out looking great. Didn't use the soap. I left the clamps sit several days, did not oil them and no flash rust either. I sprayed painted half of one clamp, I want to see how the paint...

    Where to buy screwdriver shanks

Have you checked with Graceusatools.com I started removing the handles from some old ones and polished them. I think you can find used ones pretty cheap. Handles just pop off easy. The ferrule was hard to save. Hopefully this winter I can turn some fancy walnut handles.

    Best File Handle?

I didn't see but one handle in a picture but I always liked the Lutz long ferrule handles.

LS STARRETT CO (and not a vise)

RTM-- thanks for showing that Starrett link. Years ago I found the 556 Eye Glass screwdriver but never seen it in my catalog. I got ripped off, shows it cost .20 and I paid a 1.00 I think.

    Baldor or Block grinder

How many wheels do you go thru? I have a 3/4 hp block and have used the equal in a Baldor. The block is no Baldor. IMO bite the bullet and get the 7" wheels.

Wood cabinets for tool, parts or nuts and bolts or even your socks. please show them

Jgaz- thanks for the dimensions. I saved some old chestnut boards earlier this year. I've spent hours pulling nails. Ended up getting a wand to check for what was missed . I've been letting them stabilize in my shop before I run thru the plane. I did some small pieces and ended up with some...
