Help Me Choose a Tool Chest

Here's something to consider ... I have a wide assortment of hand and power tools for woodworking, home upkeep/repair/Improvement, automotive, hobby, yard and garden, etc. I've accumulated literally hundreds of tools over the years. Some years back I was in a situation where I was living in a...

    H. F. circular saw blade sharpener

I know this is kind of an old thread, but I just bought a Harbor Freight circular blade sharpener over the weekend and wanted to report on it, so I figured why start a new thread when there was already one on here. I paid about $44 for the tool after applying the 20% off coupon. (I never go to...

    Changing Tires Without Scratching Wheels

Do you have a link for that video, or can you tell me where you saw it? I'd like to check it out. Watching the demonstration videos on the Nomar website, it's hard to imagine scratching the rims if using the tool correctly.

    Changing Tires Without Scratching Wheels

Thanks everyone. I sent my wife the links to the NoMar mount/demount bar and their Yellow Thing tool. I let her know they were for changing her tires. I've got a birthday coming up. We'll see what happens.

90 degree angled screw driver that not too bulky and handle ratchets ?

I have this one. It comes in pretty handy in really tight spots. I bought it because I was looking for an offset screwdriver and couldn't find anyone that even knew what that was, let alone stocked one. (Are those extinct now?)

    Living WITHOUT Tools!

When I think of people who don't own any tools, I have to wonder why they own a vacuum cleaner or a broom, or a washer and dryer, or a dish rag. To me, taking care of your stuff is taking care of your stuff. If you can afford to have someone change your oil and you'd rather not do it yourself...

    Changing Tires Without Scratching Wheels

Hmm ... I actually have a can of the liquid (as opposed to spray) stuff in my shop that i use occasionally. It's good stuff, but I hesitate to try it for two reasons. First, it seems that the material would create friction. It's smooth but not slick and I'm not sure the tool would slide across...

    I have a bubble balancer.

    Changing Tires Without Scratching Wheels

Actually, it saves a lot of time - and even more money - over taking the car to a tire shop. (I just bought a set of Kumho's for my wife's Mailbu for less than $200 shipped and it'll take me about an hour and a half to install them.) I've used the tool several times to change the tires on...

How does that work? Do you wrap them around the bar? What is that?

    Changing Tires Without Scratching Wheels

I've got a manual tire changing rig I picked up several years ago at Harbor Freight. It works great. Between my and my wife's cars and other family members, it's paid for itself several times over; and I've got my technique down to where I can change a set of tires (including balancing) in less...

Just picked up a "Harbor Freight" Torque Wrench 3/8

Ideally, the proper torque wrench is one for which the desired torque falls between 1/4 and 7/8 of the range. Outside of that range, it's accuracy is more likely to diminish. I always back mine off enough to relieve the tension and store them that way. I've never had a problem.

Basic Car Tool Set for non-mechanical son

"Non-mechanical" I'm not sure what that means, but it sounds like he needs a good quality tool box containing a cell phone and a credit card.

Just picked up a "Harbor Freight" Torque Wrench 3/8

Thanks. I've been trying to figure out how to dial down my beam-type torque wrench.
