I ended up with a 36k btu in my 25x30x12 with 2 10wx10.5h insulated doors. I wouldn't want anything smaller. I don't run it 24x7, only when I plan on being out there. It works well. I originally planned on a 24k Mr Cool, but I'm glad I went bigger.

No one has the 1st gen?

Does anyone here own the 1st gen diy from MrCool? I know a few people have the 2nd gen here. I've been saving up to get the 2nd gen but the price just keeps going up and now I've noticed the price has dropped on the 1st gen. The cost which used to be the same, now has the 1st gen at over $450...

So now that the summer is over. What kind of impact on your electric bills have you guys seen with these? Preferably for the 24k but I'd like to know about others too.

What is your ceiling height? And what size are your doors?

I think worse case it may have to be loosened from the mount and tilted slightly to allow the top to be accessed. With 12" clearance from the back of the unit to the wall it shouldn't take much to get out from under the soffit. It sounds good to me but I'm not an hvac tech so who knows lol...

Appreciate the advice Moose. You may be correct, like I said though it's been a while since I looked and I wasn't specifically looking for whether there were trusses or not. I will see If I can get that ladder and take some pics so we I can be sure.
