Can plywood or osb span the length of the posts?

I dont mind moving the boxes that wouldnt be a big deal but the panel is pretty much stuck. my only option for a wall covering is to run the 2x4 between the posts and use metal or 7/16 osb probably. I guess i can try to find a better fastener system for the batts or maybe add more cap nails to...

Can plywood or osb span the length of the posts?

Hey all, I have a 40x60 barn with a metal ceiling and blown in insulation and 8ft white vinyl faced batts on the wall. I didnt have any plans to do anything else to the wall because i thought the insulation looked great and would last just fine, well after a few good wind storms the insulation...

    Outside distribution panel question

Current panel is an old push"o"matic. Ground rod is directly under the meter base and the bare ground wire runs through the wall and or concrete to get to the panel. I guess I would have to run an insulated ground to the main from the new dist. Panel. I never considered that. Metal conduit runs...

    Outside distribution panel question

Hey guys, quick question. Long story short I'm helping a family member with power to a small 10x20 building. Shortest easiest way to get power to it is from the meter base. Can I install a 200 amp main service panel with 2 spaces, one 200 for the current house, and a 60 for this small shed? Then...

    pellet stove vent through insulation?

or i could always just use half the wall thimble and mount to the inside of the metal so that there is an air gap around the pipe and keeps the insulation off of it? Anyone have any photos or ideas on how they have done something similar? Thanks a ton!

    pellet stove vent through insulation?

Well shoot. Guess I could always use the thimble but secure the outside face to the inside of the metal. Sandwiching the insulation but only having a clean 3inch hole to the exterior that I can seal. That way I have the air gap between the insulation but a smaller hole between ribs for a nice...

    pellet stove vent through insulation?

Hey guys, picked up a pellet stove to help heat my new 40x60 building and im having trouble figuring out how to vent it through the wall. I have 6" vinyl faced batts on the wall and im not sure how hot the pipe gets and if i would need a thimble or can i just go with double walled pipe? Trouble...

    Pellet Stove questions for barn

Thanks for all the advice! The insurance thing does scare me a bit. I have way too much in this building and assets inside the building to not be protected. I ordered a 220,000 btu silent drive torpedo heater as they are much quieter than a standard torpedo heater and i can just leave a window...

    Pellet Stove questions for barn

Thank you guys for the response! I actually have been searching this topic for over a week now and I haven't been able to find a true installation to compare what I'm doing to. I may just stick with my quiet drive torpedo heater and call it good. I just like to be able to sit in front of a fire...

    Insulation for pole barn question

That looks great! I thought about doing batt insulation and then covering the walls with durapanel metal because i will be washing my dogs and washing down my quad and tractor so i need something durable that can stand up against water. But after pricing the insulation and the metal i decided to...

Im hoping thats where the foil backed double bubble and the air space between the insulation will help. Maybe block out some of the heat?
