Great thread.
it is too bad that they never made a 1/4 or 3/8 stubby flex head.
I found posts in the craftsman tool collectors threads on facebook where tri-wing 94378 stubby handle can be attached to make what is in my opinion a better ratchet.
I had a cheap pittsburgh round head flex...
You are right about the ring being technically backwards. For this application there isn't much of a load so it probably doesn't matter but I will switch it.
Edit: I did find that having the flat side up gave the snap ring pliers a better grip when removing it. It also probably means the...
I found a good deal on a 1/4" and 3/8" gearwrench 90t locking flex combo.
I already had the matco 88 3/8" kit in my gearwrench 1/4" 84t locking flex but wanted to see if I could get it to work in the 90t version.... I like the smaller backing plate on the 90t. I would occasionally catch my...
This is an old thread but I just did the Matco 88 1/4->3/8 kit into a locking flex head gearwrench 84t using the BFR5TK kit and wanted to post my observations. I was also curious about the BFR5TK 90T swap and had a 90T flex head to compare against and show some pictures about why it can work...
Did you check to see if the wiring extension is available from Toyota? For my 2008 335i I was able to just buy the wiring harness for adding a homelink mirror directly from bmw for $35.
Or checking ebay for wiring harnesses taken from totaled cars is often a good option. Sometimes you can...
Looks like a very nice compressor.
It will need at least a 8ga circuit to handle the 40 amps and 48amp startup. I would probably run 6/2 romex for that but you could get away with 8/2 or better yet 8 THHN in conduit or 8/2 MC (which uses THHN copper wire).
I only have a 60 gallon husky single...
+1 on using a fusebox piggyback tap and not a wiretap.
Note that the direction the fusetap is plugged in matters (input and output direction matters) for the secondary fuse. If it is backwards the output of the tap won't be fused it will be connected directly.
If you need to tap a wire...
Assuming that the tighter center of the socket is a giveaway headlock actually appears to be a running change in the regular G series... Some of mine have it and some don't... The socket pictured above is from a set that I have which is mixed V and G and they seem like they came in a set that...
Great Post.
I had to go to my drawer and compare and sure enough you can see the headlock curve on the inverted G.
Here is a side by side picture of a 3/8" drive 15mm deep 6pts with inverted G on the top and G on the bottom.
The headlock arc is visible and you can feel it if you trace the...
