I finally made it to Edmonton to pick up vises I have been accumulating. I had to pull apart this 8” Wilton in order to lift it out of the truck.

Cleaned up a post Vise yesterday, unsure of maker. Post was in excellent shape all the way to the bottom.

Final clean up and coated with tung and teak oil.

I started cleaning up a couple old post vises today. I was amazed how easily they came apart and cleaned up. I will be keeping this Smart post vise made in Canada.

I need to organize electrical but I finally got these mounted.

Today I cleaned up this Versa-Vise. It needed to cleanup in the top of the jaws and on the anvil section, but otherwise perfect! This one will be going as a gift to my father.

Today was monumental! I finally got my Wilton vise mounted! This came out of the mechanics shop at Edmonton motors, a mainstay on Jasper Ave since 1951.

I should also point out that I placed them under the window as to make use of about 8” of space while allowing my Tundra to be parked inside for maintenance. I figured the natural light would be nice for inspecting any final polishes.

I picked up the anvil today. 150 lbs for $350 which is quite a good price around these parts. The emblem is FsF but the second F is a mirror image of the first. Anyone know the maker?

Great, and good point. The guy has said it is a heavy 2-person luft but that doesn’t mean much as weight is deceiving. Good advice and I will bring a scale! I have been reading about Johnstown bridge anvils but they dont have this marking.
