I've had a Weaver for 2yrs. now ,lift works great but the single point lock release design *****,I modified it and works good now.My ceiling is 13' and the lift is 12'6" and I believe its 4" wider than most other lifts.Direct drive was the deciding factor for me also,less moving parts.
I built a panel lifter that worked very well for 4x8 sheets of OSB ,it still took 2 people to operate but it held the sheet secure while screwing them to the rafters.
Looks like a nice build,if you are doing a lot of work by yourself spend $200 on a 6' scaffolding from Lowe's, It will make working with that ceiling much easier and safer.
Mine is 13' from floor to ceiling and the 2 post lift is 12'6" tall. It took me 5yrs. to finish it as time and money...
I did a about the same thing only I used 6" wide composite decking board. We poured the concrete on both sides of the 3" wide dow foam and the board is supported by the concrete but protecting the foam.The door seals against it and the seal won't freeze to it.
I have a $12 electric bi-metal thermostat,its set on 45 ,the shop is around 55 and the floor is 58. I do not have a floor sensor and its average run time is 2 hours 1 or 2 times a day depending on outside temp. IN temp is 100 OUT is 68@ 2gpm.
I would ask the home owner his thoughts on using the garage for a spray booth.
Box fans won't cut it,after 10 min. you won't be able to see anything. If you are in a cold winter area thats a whole bunch of problems with heating/humitity.
