2 Post lift for 10' ceiling

What i did when the lift arrived was stand the posts up, attach the arms and rough it into place (distance from edge of slab, centered where i wanted it, etc.) then drove the car between it to gauge rough placement, check rough arm swings, etc before leveling and drilling holes.. As for...

2 Post lift for 10' ceiling

Hey Mark I'm not sure i understand the question. Are you asking whether the drive-thru of my lift is center to the garage door opening of my bay? Mine is also installed in a 3rd smaller bay. The super symmetric arms of the BP8000 allow for the car to be positioned with proper center of...

2 Post lift for 10' ceiling

Cool, would love to see the final result. I've thought about reframing above my lift to get more height and be able to take the car all the way up. I envy the guys here with open beam or 12+ft ceiling clearance BTW; i read your garage build thread, nicely done, its awesome.

2 Post lift for 10' ceiling

This lift from Derek Weaver is 9' 3". How do you plan to use that in your Garage with 8' ceilings?

2 Post lift for 10' ceiling

No, the car is too low for the pads to get into position. So I had to build platforms to drive onto. Once the lift was installed I did mark the floor with a center line to easily center /position vehicles on the lift.

Peace of mind under a Maxjax

Interesting idea. I like it. I'm not an engineer, but wouldn't this put extra load on the carriages? as a car/truck is lifted the carriage has some room to move in the post channel, and depending on the weight / position of what you're lifting the posts can flex slightly, would this transfer...

Advice for a move to Seattle

I live on the east side in Kirkland, happy to help with any questions. We moved here from Vancouver, Canada about 4 years ago, relocated with MSFT so I know the relocation drill, and what comes with it. I have a great real estate agent who helped us find our house, with my insane criteria for a...

Atlas BP8000 lift safety stop height

One thing to think about is that measurement was without truck adapters, so if the taller vehicle you plan to lift requires truck adapters that will change the lowest lock engagement pad height I just gave you.

Atlas BP8000 lift safety stop height

I have a BP 8000. The first lock engages at ~20.5". That's measuring from the garage floor to the top of the pad.

    2 post lift

@midas another piece of data to ease your mind I raised my carriages (with no load) to the top last lock and when i grab both arms and move the carriage back/forth with in the column I can see the columns move a bit near the top, the base is firm but there is some flex there (Atlas BP 8000) - So...

    Scratches and clear coat

I use Menzerna with Lake country pads for lighter scratches, and wool pads if i'm correcting. If you are unsure about age of paint and if its been corrected I suggest buying a paint thickness meter or getting a local body shop to measure for you - I've tried MANY different polishes, sealants...
