    bahco or beta??

Beta doesn't provide a COO on their tools, several are from China and can be found for cheaper under different names.

    Pratt-Read Nut Driver Review

I ordered a set from Amazon just like this. In fact, they are so much alike it makes me wonder if the seating isn't intentional (your colors and shaft positions were nearly the same!). The 6mm even has a square end. At least they are consistent... For the price I paid, I'm still happy, and it...

    Beware of Beta Tools

I was walking through Home Depot today and stumbled on this hacksaw. I bought this same hacksaw (in orange) from Amazon as a Beta tool, under the wrong assumption that it would be higher quality than a $4 Chinese saw (it wasn't that much more than $4 on Amazon when I bought it, but that's not...

I was reading your list while thinking "wow, this is quite specific..." then I saw your last entry. It seems out of place.

Is Made in the USA always good/better

Maybe some detail on China's economy? China has been approaching capitalism since the late 70s, and now largely respects private property ownership. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People's_Republic_of_China#Economy

    KNIPEX Lowes Cobra deal

That's a good question! I didn't test them in depth by removing them from the package, I'm not that bold :). However, I could see a visual difference in the gap of the joint, which indicates there will be side to side play in the jaws. I assume that's just a tolerance issue. I could apply a...

    KNIPEX Lowes Cobra deal

I checked out a local Lowe's and have to say I was a bit disappointed in the quality of these overall. I think they're a good deal, but I don't know how much of one... several of the sets had oddly molded jaws (the teeth were nearly flat on a few) and many of the sets had lots of lateral play...

    Quality ratchet of this style?

It's "decent" for $118? Huh. Northern Tool carries one without rubber grip and quick release, though I'm curious if it's otherwise the same as Harbor Freight's. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200378687_200378687 Gearwrench / Kobalt also makes them with rubber grips.

Felo Series 200 Screwdrivers (red hard handles)

I have a small torx set of the Ergonics and a microfinish Wiha and I like them both. The microfinish feels odd at first, almost grainy, and out of the box I like the Felo's more. I haven't used them significantly yet, but I don't see them making my hands sweat, if anything they'll grip better...

$100 to spend at Sears or Harbor Freight for Black Friday

Only for 1 item, and jacks aren't included...nor are any of the items that are on sale for the "parking lot", "blowout", "day after thanksgiving", "tent" events. Heh, what a joke. Maybe a shop crane, if they are trustable. (and aren't already on sale?)

    Knipex quality issues...? Tips included

No return shipping label, they didn't even mention wanting the defective pliers back. I suppose if it were obvious I were trying to exploit the warranty they would, but I don't think this was the case. Another plus! Those nut-drivers look really neat, an excuse to get another set. :)

    Knipex quality issues...? Tips included

I followed up with Felo and they were very quick to respond and I eventually was forwarded to a Bondhus agent here in the US. They immediately asked for my address such that they could send me a replacement set of diagonal cutters which arrived in less than a week. The new cutters don't show any...

    HOT DEAL Index!!

I can't really speak to the strength of the ratchet in comparison to SK or Snap-On, but I have the ratchet it and like it a lot, though there are a couple odd things about it: - the selector mechanism rotates with the ratchet (like other similar round head designs I assume, but it seems...

    Knipex quality issues...? Tips included

It only takes one hand, and though it's hard to estimate how much force that is, I'm not exactly a burly dude. I'd say near the amount of force you put into making a fist when you're mad. Significant, but not everything I've got. I'm talking about these...
