    Dump Trailer Tailgate Modification

Its the 220. I see now that they have it in a 120/220 volt. Mine is only a 220 volt. I've only run 1 spool of wire through it and so far is has been flawless. I don't really know how to weld (mig welding is great for guys like me), so I don't have anything to compare it to. It came with...

    Dump Trailer Tailgate Modification

I got the hinges tack welded on tonight and the tailgate cut in half. I ended up running out of wire, so Ill pick some up tomorrow and with some luck get everything welded in. I know the welds aren't the best, but given its my first welding project I cant complain.

It's been forever since I've logged in and updated the build. I poured the front pad. It ended up being around 34x70.

    Dump Trailer Tailgate Modification

I got tired of having to take off the tailgate to my dump trailer every time I wanted to dump it. So, I decided to convert it to a swing barn gate style. I ordered up 4 weld on hinges from eBay and 3 gate latches. I received the latches to day, so I started the project. I only got a little...

I paid $1.75 per block for labor, $ .85 per block, $75 for sand, $50 for H-ladder rebar and I don't remember how many bags of morter we used. I used 12" block for the first course so I could put the brick on top of it.

Sorry for not keeping up, it's easy to get side tracked. I still need to pour a pad in front of the doors. I was originally going to do it in concrete, but I decided to get some prices on doing it with pavement. I'm paying around $2.50 sf for concrete not sure what payment is going for. I...

Finally got the concrete poured today. We ended up pouring 30 yards. There was enough left over to pour the sidewalk and a small pad in the back. It's 10 pm and the guy is still out there finishing it.

    The New 35x70 Shop Project

I would say if its got a sound structure I would keep it. It wouldn't be that hard to cut a couple doors in and you wont need to raise the entire roof maybe just a section where the lift is going. As far as the trenches go fill is cheap and once the doors are cut in you can pour some concrete...

Here's some more pictures of today's progress. I got most of the building wired today. I'm going to pull the wire from the house tomorrow and call for the rough in inspection. I installed 2 - T5 lights man they are bright. I still have 10 more lights to install. Now that i see how bright 2...

That's about the same sf. I was worried that it might be to big next to the house, but now that's it's built I should of made it 60ft long. The attic trusses added another 800sf. Bang for the buck it was cheap square feet.

Another great day. The weather was sunny in the 70s. Got the roof sheathed and some more framing done. I think we should finish up the framing tomorrow and might me able to start laying out the shingles.
