    tool inventory today

I was the same way when I was a kid. Regrettably I lost a few of my dad's tools or left them outside where they would rust. I had no idea either monetary or utilitarian value of a nice set of tools or how to keep them nice, despite the way my dad got on me about it. I thought he was just being a...

    Harbor Freight 1/2" Impact....Not impressed

Just to be clear. I think this is the same gun I have, among a few. I used standard industrial fittings. The hose is on a reel, I havn't measured it, 30' maybe. Pressure is at 90 psi. The gun takes off lug nuts practically instantly. I did switch to v-style fittings but not because I was having...

    Harbor Freight 1/2" Impact....Not impressed

Okay. I'm just saying how many people have used this gun with standard industrial fittings and their pressure set at 90psi static, and do not have this problem? At least one for sure that I know of. So I don't think you need to change your fittings or crank up the pressure to 130 for the gun to...

    Harbor Freight 1/2" Impact....Not impressed

This thread is too much about fittings and air pressure. With regular fittings and 90 psi you shouldn't have any problem removing a properly torqued lug nut on any passenger vehicle. I don't think harbor freight has great quality control. They're cranking tools out as cheaply as possible, wider...

Any real value to these tools?

I use a 3/4" drive 19mm socket routinely for Honda crankshaft pulley bolts with a 3/4" impact or breaker bar. Edit: I guess I'm unclear what the drive size is.

Inpact adapter extensions vs chrome adapter extensions

Yes it's fine. There are differences but you will not damage the impact tool by using it with a hand wrench.

Do you use a ratcheting screwdriver?

No, but for most of the screws I deal with I only need to use the screwdriver handle to crack the screw loose, then apply a rolling motion to the blade of the screwdriver with my fingertips and the screw is out in about two seconds. I can imagine that if you were screwing into something like...

    Snap-On DMM fuses

Just ask the snap on guy. Also check with fluke. They may have updated the part/number but they're fairly standard.

    Best Deadblow Ball Peens?

I just threaten whatever I'm working on with my SO hammer and it knocks itself loose before I get the chance. SO is really nice, but it's the $$$ that makes you think twice. Trusty Cook is also very nice as I believe some of my older SO hammers are made by Trusty Cook. I like the cooshy handle...

new professional grade harbor freight ratchets

Thanks, I got through engineering school so I think my math is okay. My screen says $27 vs. $34 shipped for just the 3/8", or $81 for the three HF vs. $132 for a four set of GW. Obviously they are not the same.
