    The cylindrical barrel parts on the top also tilt very slightly each way as well to accommodate some kind of movement with whatever they were supporting

    Thank you, yes I’m beginning to think they are from a little time back, they’re very solid steel and have quite a nice ornate lock in system to raise and lower and the split pin/bolt is spot welded on the inside of the main steel tube so less chance of it slipping out either side while working...
