    A Schollhorn Tools mystery

BINGO! Carcajou, you nailed it. I still don't know who subcontracted the pliers, but research shows that the pliers have all the characteristics of livestock tattoo pliers (including the bottom-jaw recess to hold character dies and the tiny side retainer to keep the die from shifting). I...

    A Schollhorn Tools mystery

thanks for the tips, fellas. No patent # on the tool. Sadly, the pliers don't appear in any of the Schollhorn-Sargent-Bernard resources that I've seen so far. And while I certainly think that the design is patented, there are no corresponding patents for the pliers through DATAMP or Google...

just checking back to see if anyone has recognized these odd pliers. (I suspect they're for leather work...)

    P&C Tools Whachamacallit

Just checking in to see if anyone has recognized the tool (I'm still stumped, but I still think it's for brake service). The pic posted by Chopper1 is illuminating: I notice that the oval profile of my "mystery offering" is more shallow (almost like a basic circle). If it didn't have the tool...

    Walden Worcester Catalog

Humber2, thank you for the effort. As it turns out, their pamphlet images are ones I downloaded back then (march, I think). It's simply a matter of "keeping my antennae in the air". When and if I get my mitts on a catalog, it will get digitized and shared with the world.

Still hunting for a Walden manual. I expect something will pop up within the next couple of years (?!?!). Things like this appear when one stops looking (dad gum it)

    Walden Worcester Catalog

nine4gmc, Walden Worcester was a major player during the Model T era (circa 1918). They were the Craftsman-Truecraft-SK of that time. If I ever do stumble across a Walden catalog, I intend to digitize it to PDF for all to enjoy.

    Walden Worcester Catalog

Checking back to see if there have been any developments. Anyone out there in outlying Massachusetts towns or provinces in Worcester County? (that dusty box in the attic or the stack of stuff in the back of your closet may have what I'm after...)

    Walden Worcester Catalog

Hey all. I'm on the hunt for a Walden Worcester catalog. Does anyone know if a digital scan or a physical copy has ever appeared on the site? It appears that the last full copy to come up for E-Auction was a 1927 Stevens-Walden in August of 2008. I happen to have a bunch of Walden Worcester...

    P&C Tools Whachamacallit

I'm uploading a picture of a P&C Tools product. It's a mystery to me. It doesn't appear in their 1953 catalog. P&C part number indexing suggests to me that this #308 is for brake service. Anybody know what the heck it is?

    A Schollhorn Tools mystery

I understand if I may have stumped the forum with this pair of pliers. Some extra information: *Tool has two secondary tangs. One serves to lock the pliers in the closed position, and the other looks as if it would retain a piece of work material in the depression of one jaw. *Schollhorn had...

    A Schollhorn Tools mystery

This is a pair of specialty pliers made by the former W. Schollhorn Tool Co. They were well known for tools for hand rivets, linemen, leather work, hole punching, and other operations. But these pliers have me baffled...
