I'd leave them alone except what you can feel with your fingers or where your finger nail catches. Put a coat of wax on it and call it a day. It's not like you are running a finished surface through the planer.
It would look great! You might try a few flooring to see if they have open boxes or discontinued product. Lumber Liquidators is good about that. You could even mix species and it would still great.
***** to get old but I guess it beats the alternative. What worked for me was one of those wedge tv pillows that allow you to sit up in bed. I'd put it on the floor then lay on, lay on it on my stomach or side and wire up the box. Then keep sliding to the next one till finished. I think a...
My electric bill shows a similar fixed cost for the meter but it also has other fixed cost that total much more than the few cents/day meter cost. I am very happy for you if it works out the way you expect.
If I were as confident about the additional monthly fees for a second meter as you... I'd go for the second meter. That said it sounds to good to be true especially with no minium use charge.
If the wiring in it is disconnected rip it out and fill with mortar and some matching brick. If it remains live or might be in the future put a weatherproof cover on it.
My shop "central vac" isn't fancy. I use a Ridgid shop vac mounted near the ceiling with exhaust piped outside using a dryer vent. A 25" clear 2.5" hose allows me to reach most of the shop.

I've advocated for "plugs in the ceiling" many times because I'm a super fan of KISS (keep it simple stupid). The exception is a "show room" or if anesthetics are the priority.
Lumens make more sense... that said you compare any two different manufactures and I'd bet they seem different in brightness to you. Quality of the light in a given setting or use is probably just as important as brightness. Personally I hate the bluish hue of higher color temperure lighting...
Not that it matters but for me... the funny thing about SBD being the aggressor here is I've always thought a Stanley being the at the lower quality end of tool except for some older wood planes and even those were hit or miss castings.
Where Stanley thermos seemed at the higher end of quality.
I would avoid warm mist humidifiers except for occasional use. Might be good for 1 day a couple times a months but they are likely to breed bacteria and who knows what else. If you do use a warm mist humidifier consider daily cleaning following the manufacturer directions closely.
