I have 1/4 and 3/8 and some 1/2" drive ratchets and sockets and have been very happy with them. Also have a full set of combination wrenches and no issues either. I did have one 1/2" drive extension that was missing the retaining ball and took it to Fastenal and to get it warrantied.

These are hard wired.

I've tried lots of different ones and have had the best luck with the 3M purple (with the plastic backing). As the edge wears down, you can just trim them.

I have one that I have used and abused for about five or six years. It isn't the greatest but, I also got it for about $350. For that price, I would go with a different brand or buy something used. The thing I dislike about it the most is the short cable for welding lead.
