What are these used for? I saw the pic where it was being used on a water faucet, but I guess I just don't have faucets that use that kind of fitting?

Late reply, but yes, I have a couple. Hard to tell in the pics, but I think this is the stacked plate version. They are better than most locking pliers. Adjusting the grip pressure instead of the jaw opening is an incredible feature. Pretty sure these are an evolution of the LeverWrench...
