17 Year old Will graduate soon & wants to go into the trades. Advice?

My son (in Minnesota) is in a trade school learning HVAC. As previously mentioned, he seems to be learning a wide variety of skills. They gave like a 115% job placement rate (more jobs than people to fill the jobs). As far as tools go - all of the big tool companies offer great trade school...

    Trade School Tool Discounts

My son just started trade school for HVAC. He is looking to buys some tools and he does not have much money. We both watch the used market pretty closely and we also frequent garage sales etc. Does anyone know what tool companies offer tool discounts for trade school students? He was able to get...

    Wera Tool-Check Plus

Not to pile on but…. The tool check is the first tool related item that I have purchased on a whim (just thought it was cool) that I actually use a ton. It is a great kit to use in my boat. I have done full boat projects with this kit and nothing else.

    New 48 x 72 Pole Building

All great suggestions. I have been thinking about this shop for about ten years but my interests have changed over time. Morton finished all of the walls with steel except the South wall which was done in OSB for hanging cabinets etc. Unfortunately, I have move a bunch of my stuff in before the electrical is...

Thanks for the input! I am going to build a partitioned off area - couch/lounge area, office, bathroom (w/shower), and utility room. I will be able to store things above this space.

    New 48 x 72 Pole Building

I am sure that this may be somewhat of a redundant ask but.... My 48 x 72 pole building will be completed by end of this week. It is a fully insulated Morton with in-floor radiant heat. I have dreamed of having a shop for many years and now that dream is finally coming true! I will primarily...

    Frustrated with in-floor heat quoted.

I just got a radiant heat bid for $26k for my 48 x 72 pole building. This does not include insulation in the slab. Completely unreasonable.

    My 46x32 build thread

Very nice work. I am thinking of doing something very similar at my cabin in Northern MN. Do you mind sharing an approximate cost?

    Poulan Chainsaws, any good???

Totally ****. My dad bought one new for a very good deal. He gave it to me still in the box. It started once and never again. I have a Stihl and it is great saw.
