My wife works for Goodyear and they are moving into a new headquarters building. They sold off a bunch of old furniture and we bought seven medium height cabinets for $20 each. The tall ones were sold before we could get to them. If they sell more, I'll try to get more.
I'd definitely look at...
I think you definitely have to pick your battles. I just replaced the timing cover gasket on my son's '98 F-150 V6. Lots of labor, but most of the tasks were pretty straightforward and we could afford to have the truck laid up for three days. On the other hand, the water pump on my wife's '08...
I used some regular enamel several years ago to paint a basketball court (well ... part of one) for my son and his buddies. It has held up better than the sealcoating.
I've had an HRM215 with the 3-speed transmission since 1998. The only repairs I've ever done was to replace the wheels when they had worn smooth and the transmission a year or two ago. The transmission was a little over $200, including labor (I wasn't sure what was wrong when it failed and the...
Damn Big Al! I wish I would have known about the Crown Vic wheels before I bought the 18" Dunlop snows that are on the OE wheels now. That would have been a great solution. It wouldn't even have looked bad since my Mustang is black over black. I thought I'd looked at all the cheap answers.
Yeah, I check from time to time. My problem is that I have 18" wheels. I thought about going with a set of OE 17" for winter use, but I thought it would be safer to go with a true winter tire rather than an all-season. As mild as this winter has been, that probably wasn't the best decision...
I wanted to get a separate set of snow wheels and rims, but when I added up the cost of the tires (about $150 each for 225/55-18s or 225/60-17s) plus four wheels, plus TPMS, I was looking at well over $1300 at Goodyear employee prices ... versus well under $600 after rebates for just the tires...
I've got a little over 8k on my 2011 V6 6-speed coupe with the 3.31 axle. I'm just in love with this car and I've been driving since 1965 and raced sports cars for over 15 years. It's a very competent car.
I've got the MCA package so I have the 18" wheels with 235/50 tires. The Performance...
My Husky compressor (which has a Campbell Hausefield data plate) recommends 30 weight compressor oil or 10W-30 synthetic. I've opted to use the synthetic because the detached garage is generally heated only when I'm out there. I change it once a year.
Last March I got a 2011 V6 Premium, black on black, 6-speed, with the Mustang Club of America Package (flat black side stripes, spoiler, 18" dark wheels) and 3.31 "performance" axle. I'm very impressed. Paid a little over $23k ($28k+ sticker) thanks to 43k in rebates. Mileage is 28+ on the...
I think your analysis is pretty good. The height is a compromise, but it's a lot better than jack stands ... and the ability to unbolt the pillar and open up the garage (I have a 24x26) can be invaluable. IF I had a three car garage and enough height, I'd put a full size lift in the middle. But...
The R-13 batts in my small pole barn (24x26) are just stapled to the trusses. One of these days I'll get them covered with something. I'm near Akron and the insulation helps a lot.
