If you need extra height get a 2x big enough for the jack to sit on top of with room to spare and after the first few pumps under load the jack will make depressions in the wood that should make it fairly sturdy. NEVER get under a vehicle without jack stands.

Why do i have a feeling there is going to be a "3 foot long flex head ratchet fail" thread soon?

I haven't had any yet (although it did get a "new" engine after i had it for a month) but everything small on that engine is held down with studs and 8mm nuts. Electrical connections, valve covers, shrouds, blower motor, etc...

I guess i should have been more specific. :( Any of yours with the 3.0?

I have an 03 an i'd say the oddballs are 5.5mm for interior stuff and some ignition parts, 12pt 12mm for drive shaft, 27mm for pinion, Torx plus 55 for seats. Most of the rest is common, however you will at some point need a deep 8mm socket... you'll find out why soon enough.
