    pneumatic nailer - mainly 2 x 4/1 x 6 and sometimes 2 x 6

Lowes has a 5 gun kit. Comes with the framing nailer, finish nailer, brad nailer, pin nailer, and palm nailer. I've only used the framing nailer and palm nailer so far, but ran about 3 large boxes of nails through the framing nailer building my 28x60 garage/workshop with no problems. You can...

new 30x70 started with 18x70 loft

Welcome. Nice looking garage. I am building one that is a similar size and layout. Will be looking forward to your updates. What are your plans for the interior layout? What are you using the loft for?

buying a backup generator- what do you have?

I had the same Coleman generator for a few years and had it hooked up through the dryer outlet as well. Never had a problem with unclean power though. It would surge quite a bit whenever a load was first put on it. I sold it when we bought our house, as the previous owner left us a generator...

Help me get rid of wood paneling!!

Speaking of fire, my old workshop had wood paneling on the walls and ceiling. It burned to the ground very quickly. I would recommend something with more fire protection (to slow it down at least), especially if it is connected to the house.

    My 28x60 garage build

So I started framing this past weekend, and now a hurricane is headed our way. At most, it will be a Category 1 storm, but it has me pretty nervous. By the time the storm hits, I will have the back wall done and the start of the two long walls. I figured having the two corners will help with...

    residential garage door delima

What about carriage doors? I've always like the looks of them but I don't know if they would work for a door that wide though...

    That's right, I'm a home (GARAGE) owner!!!

+1 on the electrical. Congrats on the house and garage. I just bought my first house and workshop 2 years ago. Definitely get the electrical checked out ASAP. My workshop recently burned down, which was most likely electrical. Lost all my tools and everything in storage, but at least I...

    Who has a 30 x 60 shop - Thirty by sixty?

I had one close to that size, but never really organized. It didn't even have a garage door on it . The new one will be 28'8" x 60'8" so I am very interested in this as well. Here is my build thread: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112855

    Concrete Contractor - Unrealistic Expectations?

Sounds kind of like what happened to me. I hired them and waited a little more than a month for them to come out. They kept telling me "We are finishing a job now and will be there right after" or "We will be there the end of the week", etc. Then one week they stopped answering their phone...

    My 28x60 garage build

The odd size is because I am reusing the slab and that's what was there. It is a 40 year old slab and was surprisingly strong (it didn't crack after 3 cement trucks drove on it). There needed to be a little repair work on it around the edges and it is actually 28'8" x 60'8" now. I was...

    My 28x60 garage build

I registered a while ago but this is my first post as I actually have something to post now. :) I've been reading and getting ideas for my new garage / workshop. Background: My workshop burned down a few months ago and I am finally able to get started building. The building was not...
