Tools for a Heavy Equipment/ OTR Truck Tech

marpat the investment in tools will last quite awhile. A tool dealer once told me his biggest competitor was the wife when getting that tool $$$. I am a shop manger for a construction company. When you work in a union shop in my area by union contract you are only required to have basic hand...

Pics: Mr Heater Big Maxx install

I have one of those Mr. Heater 75000 BTU units. (Won it in a raffle) and the only question I have is running the flue through the exterior insulated/drywall wall. The "Thimble" that is required to go through the wall, how far does the insulation need to be from it and how do you seal the outer...

Drill bits, are there any good ones out there?

I have had good luck with the Black and Decker "Bullet Bits". I have used them in both wood and steel (seperate sets of course). In fact When I was wrenching at a trucking company I was able to dril 47 3/16 pilot holes in a truck frame before it was trash (to mount pump and a compressor...

    Craftsman toolbox lock R&R

Well after all the **** with Sears I finally called Waterloo. They had me try a couple of things, I called back and said it did not work. They said no problem, drill out the paddle handle to get in and let them know all the parts I needed. I did so and all the parts are covered under warranty...

    Spray wax and detailers

I used to use Meguirs for years and switched to Griot's Garage products a couple of years ago. They are easier to use with better results They smell nice too). And yes they are expensive but I also use less product now also. So the end cost is about the same.

    Griot's Garage Products

By the way my F150 pictured is a 2008 60Th Anniversary Edition. I used the Clay Bar followed by the Machine Polish 3 & 4. I used the Best Of Show wax (2 Coats) and Speed Shined just before the picture was taken. I used the Under Carriage Spray in the wheel wells and also the bed liner (works...

    Griot's Garage Products

Griot's products are awesome. I have been using them for several years. The Engine Bay Dressing is great. I spray down my V10 in the Excursion once a month. Looks like new. The best thing I did was to go to their seminars. One in Indianapolis, IN last summer and one in St. Charles, IL last...

    Craftsman toolbox lock R&R

just to update the progress. In order to replace the damaged lock I have to also replace the lock handle assembly too. I have been on the phone with Sears for the last hour and 45 minutes, spoke to 13 people, and was hung up on twice only to find that I have to obtain my "warranty parts" from...

    Craftsman toolbox lock R&R

Slimjims, grab tools and coat hangers won't work unfortunatly. All good ideas but on the Craftsman boxes (at least my Pro Box) the locking mechanism from the lock and lever assembly is a cable the runs to the rear of the box to a lever that actuates the rear verticle lock bars on each side...

    Craftsman toolbox lock R&R

My fears are now realized. I was thinking the same thing. Thanks for the confirmation. I will post the results after I build up the nerve to take a drill to my box....LOL!

    Craftsman toolbox lock R&R

This is my first post here so, Hello to all. Hopefully someone can assist me?!? I have a Craftsman 56" Professional Toolbox and the lock cylinder for the top box failed. This box is 2 years old so Sears covered the part but not the service call (will fix free if I bring in the box...Ya Right!)...
