    Lowes deals/sales/clearance

I spotted a deal in the clearance section on Saturday. It was a battery powered Dewalt bandsaw. No box, dusty, but zero wear on the wheels, so I assume it was the display model. Clearance price of $44.** from $179! It took me a minute to notice it was 12V and not the 20V that I use. I...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT Made By Miller Studios

The original tire was a highway style all-season when we bought the 4Runner with about 60k miles in 2018. I think the Wildpeaks would be a little quieter on a wider rim to make it run a little flatter, but my neighbor is also running oversized Wildpeaks on his stock Gladiator with aftermarket...

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT Made By Miller Studios

Just to add a bit more (confusion) to the the tire info, I think the Wildpeaks can be a bit noisy. On our 4Runner, I went from the stock 245/60R20 to 275/55R20 on a narrow 7" rim. So that may contribute to the noise but probably similar to a BFG AT.

While working in this building, were you surrounded by a lot of "plants"?? ;-)

Unheated building and frost heave in Iowa?

I would also worry that sheetrock would crack more due to freezing temps causing more expansion/contraction. My 3 season porch has more cracks than it did when we bought it, but maybe that's due to the poor craftsmanship.

    Hi from Central Iowa

I was with the high voltage contractor L.E. Myers. I went to school with "Big Dave" Riley(sp?) and last I heard he was in IT at Fisher. He is a gearhead too, but focused more on mud/rock crawling.

    Hi from Central Iowa

Hello and welcome! Good luck on the shop upgrade and retirement. I used to work in Marshalltown about 12-13 years ago.

High lift and door seal issues..

I am no expert, but it looks like those seals are really tight. Can you move the whole door further away from the seal/opening?

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Mid-Century Moto Mecca Makeover

Looks great! It sure would be easier if the exhaust exited off the back of the head! That's something I have wondered about for a long time, why not design the motor with the carb in front and exhaust in back? I get that its too late now to spin the head 180 degrees because of the valvetrain...

Whats the purpose of calling 811, call before you dig?

Probably 10 years ago at the corner by my old house, they were replacing the sidewalk at the intersection to make it handicap accessible. They called locates and I an not sure whose fault it was, but they hit a very large AT&T bundle. It took 3-4 days to put it back together and the rumor was...

Sagging garage that was "fixed" already by a flipper: is it secure?

My opinion is that was not done correctly, but is probably secure. I mean it stood before they "fixed" it. With some knowledge, it could be fixed on the cheap. My old neighbor fixed his garage that probably should have been tore down. Slowly jack up the center, add new cross ties, and...

Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT GrainBelt Garage - An Iowa Garage & the Projects Inside

Car prices should be coming down, so hopefully that will help. Here are a couple that I interest me, but may not work for you... BMW I3- All electric fun little commuter with a real carbon fiber cockpit. If you get one a couple years old, its half the price of new. Optional REX/range...

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Pacific Island Life - 40x50

Just a question/thought on the layout, if you put the 2 post lift where the single car is indicated, won't you have to drive the future RV thru the lift to park? Would this be a bit tight, especially if you have to come in at an angle? The build looks great, I would love to something similar here.
