We use Hilti for heavy duty tools such as chipping hammers, hammer drills, core machine etc. For “everyday” tools we use Milwaukee but a couple of years ago we did use Hilti.

The closed cell provides a moisture barrier and costs more than open cell. Since I already have my closed cell sealing up my roof I am considering using open cell to add additional insulation, which is needed, but not spend so much compared to the closed cell.

I am not home but will take current pictures of what I have and then try to provide additional details and answer some questions. I appreciate everyone’s advice.

When I had the “shell” built I never even thought about the weight of sheetrock hanging down. Looking back I wish I would have had my purlins spaced every 2’ vs the every 4’ they currently are.

Here is an additional drawing that shows a little bit more of a broader idea. I will note that the exterior wall is built inside the the purlin wall of my barndominium. The beams will be set on headers at the end walls. I was told by my builder of the shell that the existing purlin roof would...
Need some help. I need to frame up my ceiling to support the weight of sheetrock. This will be constructed under my current roof structure which is 8” purlins spanning 25’. I have 2 options. The first option (top) I know will support the weight and the second option (bottom) makes sense that it...
I have a 40’x50’ red iron barndominum and I did 1” closed cell on everything. It forms a nice sealed envelope and is a vapor barrier as well. I am currently doing roxul insulation in the walls and haven’t decided if I am doing the same for roof or going to do open cell in the roof to fill in the...
I don't want to have the hodge podge and that's why I am asking. I don't want to have moisture issues down the road because the attic is unvented. If I went vented I will have to install a gable end vent to allow air in I think. If I sealed it up I am unsure where I will pull in fresh air unless...
I will look up Matt's videos. I was confused as well because as because I know a typical constructed house will be vented but since this is a barndominum things might change. I added the ridge vents because I was getting conflicting answers with my builder of the metal building and the insulator.
I am in the process of building my house (barndominum). The metal building itself has been spray foamed with closed cell and it only vented with a ridge vent. I am framing the inside currently but am trying to get an idea of how I will be heating and cooling as well as properly venting the attic...
I have always used copper or black pipe. I've been interested in pex as well as the pex, al, pex but all the commercial buildings I have ran air lines in have spec'ed copper or black pipe, mostly copper though.
