The existing 1/2” oak likely started out much thicker but has bees sanded/ refinished over the years. The thing to look for there is the amount of material left above the tongue. That’ll tell you how many standing/refinishes the floor has left in it. I’d want to know that before I started...
Look at that! That makes a lot of sense. The guy who gave them to me lived in Colorado Springs for the longest time.
He worked on the railroad but I'm not sure in what capacity. He could fix just about anything!
