    They "lock" only inasmuch as they prevent pulling the hook off the track in the normal direction, i.e., perpendicular to the wall. Even when "locked" the hooks still slide easily transversely along the track (i.e., left and right). A hook slid all the way off the track will come off the track...

    UPDATE: I bought Craftsman Versatrack hooks. They do fit, but the locking feature does not arrest trackwise translation. (Is it supposed to?)
