Thanks Steve F, glad you liked the table design and assembly. hahahaha, its not a Sherco R converter, its a Turco. Oh yes those armored plates are so darn heavy, moving and working on each panel gives me back pains. LOL :D:yikes:
Glad to have another friend from RP !!!!!
Next step now is the assembly of the main frame or the receiver of the plate panels. For starters, tacked welded all corner joints, insides, top and the corners.
And after tacking each corner joints, started applying the welds :
Ok, when done working with the armored table top panels, I started working on the angle iron bars using a flap sanding disc to remove the rust. And then applied or brushed it with metal rust converter.
Then cut some pieces of triangular 1/4" thick iron to be welded in the inside part...
Here's my initial sketchup design of my heavy duty welding table which I am currently working on now. As I go along this project, new ideas keeps popping up so I guess I'll be adding or changing some features here and there and hopefully what I have in mind will come to reality.
What I have...
I just hope your hinges can carry the extra weight of the table top panel.
Oh, don't worry much about your welds, you can just grind it a little to make them nicer to look at, just practice some more on scrap metals and in no time you will be producing great looking weld beads.
CHEERS and...

Thanks for sharing some pics.
@charger891,
I just love the great idea of the table lift/wheel mechanism. Yeah you are right for bigger and heavier work bench a wheel bearing will be more appropriate for the sliding part of the lever, but how do you lock the lever handle to keep it from moving back upwards ?
Well anyway...
@Hey jhn9840,
OK I have attached two small tables on the left side and on the right side.I'll start with the smaller green one first, it will be for a removable table vise plate, and I will have another one too for a metal bender that I will be fabricating also as soon as I finish this welding...
Will this help as an initial sketchup design ? This would be my shall we say ultimate workbench. I n the process of fabrications, many features will still be added to make welding and metal projects easier to accomplish. :thumbup:

HI guys, I would like to share too my Heavy Duty Welding & cutting work bench basic design, I have started working on it though there will be some changes as I go along the process of fabricating this workbench. I have so many things still to add on its build. Maybe I'll post some pics as I...
Yeah this is very similar to when I was still a child, I would see this old guy in a very big bicycle with some grinding stone attached at the back of the bike then in front is a long bucket or container with old repaired umbrellas which he sells also. Aside from sharpening knives or repairing...
