    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

Re: Teardrop Camper -- Structural Thoughts That is true for an open structure like the picture you posted. Once the skin is on the curve, that will add the torsional strength needed. A UK web site has a great deal of information about teardrops, including structural information and weight...

    Blank Slate

Well, all went well with the final, and passed first time. In use covers are still there. I planted a shrub to cover the worst one. I planted a bunch more stuff to make the Mrs. happy. That's the first stuff I've done to the garage rather than in it in a while. We have hydrangeas flanking...

    creeper storage

I hang mine on the wall. Depending on the type of creeper you have, a different hook will probably be required. My hook is a 1x4 piece of cedar cut at ~30 degree angle. Regards, RonB

    Garage Attic Question

A few housed ago, I built a 24 x 28 garage, with the trusses spanning 28'. I used attic trusses, and raised the heel just a bit. I ended up with a nice, usable 12 x 24 room upstairs. Regards, RonB

I have been working on my garage, I promise! I had gutters installed, so I don't have new ditches every time it rains :-) I finished the attic door with cladding: I called for final inspection. They said I had to have electrical final first. 4 things they found wrong: missing outlet cover...

    Garages at Night Thread

And, here it is with all the siding on, buttoned up for the night: Regards, RonB

Finally, it's done (well, the siding, anyway): I left the front wall 'till last, because of all the short pieces needed. I was over the doors before I had to cut a new piece of siding. Here is a "Garage at night" pic: Since the siding is finished, I was able to clear up and put the car and...

Progress! Siding is so much easier, and faster, that trim. Right side: Left side: Back: All this in less than a week. I still have to finish the front, as well as make doors for the back attic entrance. Then, I can install light fixtures and call it done, as far as the building inspector...

A little more progress on the trim today. I managed to install the brick mold trim I bent last night, on the garage and people door. I think it came out fairly decent: I also bent up the trim for the windows. They are nail-flange vinyl windows, so there isn't any brick mold to cover. I made...

Now, some pictures.... Here's the front of the garage, as well as the breezeway: Here's looking at it from the opposite corner, toward the house: And, here's the back of the back, still needing doors to the attic: This is a detail of the facia/soffit/freize area where the breezeway butts...

    Blank Slate

Well, I apologize for no new pics. It's just been too dark when I've got something done. This week, I have finished the trim on the back gable and the breezeway. Left to do, before I start siding, are the trim for the people door and the car door, as well as the windows. Then, the garage gets...

    Blank Slate

Not much happened _to_ the garage this weekend, but a fair amount happened _in_ it: I emptied out the storage unit I had been renting. Some of the stuff made its way to the overhead shelves, but a fair amount is just stacked on the floor until I figure out how to store it all. It was raining...

Thanks, NuttsGT. The breezeway (or any connection between house and garage) required 5 feet additional setback, but in my humble opinion it is worth it. One of the most common usages of a garage is a place to park your cars out of the weather. What use is it to park the car out of the weather...

    Blank Slate

I have made some progress in the past week. I passed the framing (re)inspection, and got started on the aluminum trim. More progress to come this weekend. Regards, RonB
