I appreciate the feedback, I assumed the brackets had tension on them and that's why I didn't want to remove them. Bad design for remove and replacement of weatherstrip. Being the springs are 20 years old they probably would have to be replaced too.
I have a commercial door on my shop that needs a new weatherstrip and bottom. It is the T type rubber but I am trying to see why the door company made it so hard to replace. The end brackets that hold the cable must come off to start the seal and the last few inches of seal do not even do...
