I think I got taken on this Kellogg American 331TV compressor :(

Hey Brendan, any updates? How did it all turn out? I also have a 331TV, I'm hoping to get it cleaned up and maybe rebuild the pump soon also. You can see it in my thread here: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=260728 Thanks for posting so many details, it'll be a great help...

    Mighty Seven Air Tool Reviews?

I bought the 4611 a couple months ago. Its not super powerful but nobody would expect it to be a monster. It is perfect though to fit into really tight spots. I was able to remove some rusted wheel hub bolts where typically nothing but a breaker bar will fit. For the price, you cant go wrong. I...

Ahh that sounds like a great setup. I wont be running both together at this point, but that may be necessary in the future if I start to do alot of bead blasting. What would a PLC setup like that cost?

    Kellogg American 331TV Compressor

Thanks for the kind words! I may be going to pick up a bead blasting cabinet & setup this weekend, which should help me bring my projects to the next level. I'm going to pull the pump and motor off the kellogg and bead blast them, then strip the tank and refinish it with some nice paint. I'll...

Yes I learned my lesson on the mask seal thing! I know Doug used Marvel Mystery Oil to clean, it takes the oxidation right off. I'm not sure if he used anything else, but the MMO is all that I know of. Maybe he will chime in...

Can you elaborate on exactly what a PLC controlled alternator does? I've been looking for a magnetic starter for my Kellogg compressor... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I found the son of Dougs compressor on Craigslist. Picked it up a few days ago. It's only 60 gallons compared to his 80. Here's a side by side picture of the two. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey Fellas'. I found another compressor on Craigslist that I couldn't pass up. Its quite a bit smaller than the Kellogg Monster I already have. I figure I'll clean it up and use it for a while, then probably sell it... Its an Atlas Copco Prime Air 60 Gallon Vertical - 5HP. The tank is dated...

Guys, I know that this is only an Atlas Copco, and not an all mighty Kellogg American compressor.... But I thought the work we did would spark at least a few comments... Here's a couple side by side shots to show the magnitude of before & after. Note: we still have some work and cleaning to do...

New Pulleys, belt, hoses, plumbing, and hardware installed. New wheels too, which make moving it much easier. We still have some cleaning to do on the pump itself, but she's running smooth so far. We have a new "Atlas Copco" decal for the front of the tank on the way. For those dying to hear...

It took two full days to get the paint out of my nose... That mask didn't help at all. Doug, I see you've pulled some photos from my portfolio. I hope you got permission from my modeling agency, they take property rights violations pretty serious.

I had some spare time today, so I got the new pulley installed. I measured my CFM with the 5 inch pulley, which calculated to approx 12-13 CFM. After installing the 6.25" pulley, I did the same tests and came out with 18.78 CFM. I think that's very impressive considering I only increased the...
