    My new Phoenix garage/shop build

Well, things are finally settling in around the garage and house. Once we got our Certificate of Occupancy, life got crazy and I've only had time to pull about 1/3 of the equipment and parts out of storage. I've purchased a hotel surplus hide-a-bed couch for the hobby room and got most of the...

The landscaping is wrapping up, today I hope, so we can get the final city permit sign off. The big thing was getting gravel on all the dirt leading up to the garage door. (pictures to follow)

Thanks, it was partially driven by the yard, obviously. What you don't see in most of the pictures, 4 or 5 ft off the corner patio drops right into the pool.

No pictures again, too dark inside when I got home last night. But, the plumber was busy, installed the toilet, wall mount sink, fittings/valves for the slop sink and the hot water tank in the attic. The contractor was also out and got the 2 final doors installed, both self closing, solid core...

Not sure what we paid for stucco, it's just wrapped into my total. When I get the final bill, I might have a better idea. As for the inspector, he's given us three more inspection sign-off since he complained, so we are assuming it's not an issue. I've consulted with several other architects...

They got the door to fit pretty tight and angled perfectly to the ceiling. You can also see that the walls have been painted. I went with a very light gloss grey "cold wind", so when it starts getting a little dusty, dirty from working in there, it won't show as much as a pure white would...

It's a great way for me to expand the useable space of the garage 8 months out of the year. Plus, it make it look more like the house's front, where there is a gable end over the top of the garage door.

Finally a bit more progress today. I went home at lunch to find they had painted the whole inside of the garage and hobby room area. And an even bigger surprise, the garage door was being installed, that one piece that make a garage a garage, not just a big box...

The garage door and carport face east, the patio faces south. So the north and west walls are both partially/mostly shaded by the cinderblock fences. Morning sunlight at the door should be nice, then by about mid morning, the carport roof will shade the garage door.

Thanks all for the kudos, I'm certainly enjoying watching the progress in person. Honestly, I'm getting ancy to get it over with and get moved in and set-up. This morning, the framers came back to sheet the underside of the carport and patio.

And just that quick, the stucco is done. (at least it looks done)
