Pliers That I Find Useful and Some I Don't. Tell Me Your Preferences

Do people actually use the grooves on pliers that are meant to turn nuts? I guess it's there as a bonus, but also invites people to try and turn nuts they have no business turning

New? Shop-tool for comfortably torquing lug nuts/ wheel studs while vehicle is on the lift.

What's the difference between putting slight weight on the wheel vs the full weight of the car on the wheel before tightening?

Long term every day shop experience with Olsa tools and Tekton 1/2” split beam torque wrenches?

I don't think they make them for snap on any more, if I recall I wish there were more options for metric as the primary units

    Show your adjustable wrenches!

    I have a irega/channellock in 8" - tempted to get a top/lobtex in 10/12 - how do they compare to a western forge? I remember using a proto 710 and it was....fine?

Is anybody still buying modern SK Tools?

SK is in that no man's land where their customer base/fandom that cares about the Brand's heritage won't buy a Chinese made product, but people who aren't familiar with the brand doesn't understand what makes it special. It's like if Harley Davidson bikes shut down their US factory

1/4 drive - Koken vs Snap On.

Does anyone know how the lengths of the KoKen non z series 1/4 sockets compare to the snap on 1/4 shallows? Part of me wants to just get snap on 1/4 mids, but with my luck I'll run into the need for shallows

    Triple square set recommendations

Do the KoKen and snap on bits fit substantially better than the Capri or is there wobble in all of them? Was not confidence inspiring taking my wheel bearings off, and torquing the new ones my VW with the Capri. Seems to have a few degrees of wobble - but not sure if that's just how they fit

    Which 24” 1/2 ratchet should I get?

After doing wheel bearings and brakes on my VW, I'm ready for a 24" long ratchet. Lots of torque specs which were 70 NM + 90 degrees and that 90 degrees part with a breaker bar was brutal. No lift, so not much room to swing, especially with 6 point sockets. Also, keeping the M14 XZN socket in...

    EDC - Tool Kits

Trying to take inspiration from this thread to replace my leatherman. I like the idea of a multi tool, but the jobs always feel too big for one to handle. I need to find a nice straight piler (not a fan of the angled knipex water pump style pliers for EDC use). The 711L bit driver and some...

German Double offset box wrench set

Whoops, I meant 20 and 23. Lots of people on this thread saying the 23 isn't that useful and they reach for the 20 first.

German Double offset box wrench set

I'm deciding between the stahlwille 21 and 23 Is the 21 more versatile for general purposes? What are situations that a 23 would work but a ratchet wouldn't?

The uses and usefulness of different wrench types

Guys who like long double box end/double box end ratcheting - do you guys not run into clearance issues with such long issues? Maybe because I'm usually working on jackstands but I rarely have enough room to swing long handles

    Astro 1/2" Nano sockets

Are these a good substitute for ratcheting wrenches when combined with a 22mm ratcheting wrench? I'm going to pick up the astro tools ratchet wrench for my set, is there a good short wrench to combine it with?

    Facebook Snap On groups Scams

Yeah I was trying to see if there was a legitimate tool marketplace group, and stumbled upon endless scams. Like when you see a $800 ratchet set being sold for $150, there ain't no way
