What grit valve grinding compound for lapping an arbor and jacob's chuck?

Ok, thanks. Yes, the higher grit seems much more appropriate to me, as well. 120 sounded crazy, with 220 mildly better.

What grit valve grinding compound for lapping an arbor and jacob's chuck?

Thanks - yes, I used a sharpie in this instance. Yeah, that's what my gut was saying too... sounds very abrasive to me. Good to know. Ok, thank you!

What grit valve grinding compound for lapping an arbor and jacob's chuck?

Thanks. I used some marker to check the fit. I guess the question is what grit is appropriate to lap them with. I have access to the two mentioned above.

What grit valve grinding compound for lapping an arbor and jacob's chuck?

I can see a small raised area when I check the interface

What grit valve grinding compound for lapping an arbor and jacob's chuck?

I have a jacobs style chuck and an arbor I'd like to lap. I've read folks use valve grinding compound. What's the right type of compound (water / grease) and grit (120 / 220 / something else) to do this without unnecessarily wearing down the arbor and chuck? At the local auto parts store, they...

Anyone used an 'anchor locking' 5-15 plug like this for a heavy-gauge cable?

I think you may not be reading all of article 210.21. Your code reference doesn't appear to be directly from NEC, which includes additional information. 15A receptacle is allowed on 20A circuit when there is more than one receptacle, per 210.21(B)(3) and the related table. If you flip to the...

Anyone used an 'anchor locking' 5-15 plug like this for a heavy-gauge cable?

I don't actually have any 'issues', and I don't see any reason to spend my time doing that. Above all, the manufacturer sold it with that plug. If memory serves right, Chicago Pneumatic makes this unit. They have plenty of engineers. NEC permits single receptacle 15A circuits to have a 20A...

Anyone used an 'anchor locking' 5-15 plug like this for a heavy-gauge cable?

Listed right above 824253PAT. Regardless of what any manual says, it has a 19A motor tag and a 19A compressor tag :) There's a number on there, if you'd like to call.

Anyone used an 'anchor locking' 5-15 plug like this for a heavy-gauge cable?

that might be true for the one you're looking at, but the tag on my 824253PAT reads 2HP 115 Volt 1 Phase, 19/9.5 FLA. The tag on the Century motor also reads 19/9.5A. I bought the biggest damn compressor I could get to run off of 120.

Anyone used an 'anchor locking' 5-15 plug like this for a heavy-gauge cable?

Well, it plugs into a 5-15p outlet with no issues. I bought it new from NAPA. I think that's sufficient.

Anyone used an 'anchor locking' 5-15 plug like this for a heavy-gauge cable?

Yep, I'm just planning to support it as you and others mentioned above and ordered a regular, but industrial 5-15p that fits the cable diameter.

Anyone used an 'anchor locking' 5-15 plug like this for a heavy-gauge cable?

No, that's not true. The Napa Air Boss compressors come with a 5-15p on it. They know that the vast majority of residential 20A circuits have 15A receptacles. This is for plugging in something one day out of a year. Not worth investing in $1000 or even $500 in cable and box. They are pretty...

Anyone used an 'anchor locking' 5-15 plug like this for a heavy-gauge cable?

That's a great idea. That certainly is a good interim solution. Yes, that's true... but NEC does permit a 5-15R on a 20A circuit. Someone can tell me I'm wrong, but I am quite sure they know there can be 20A device plugged into it... my NAPA compressor draws about 20A and came with a 5-15P on...

Anyone used an 'anchor locking' 5-15 plug like this for a heavy-gauge cable?

I bought these, as I'm doing construction on the house, and some of the tools push 20A. My front lot line is a couple hundred feet from the house, and on occasion need to run an extension cord out there for some tools that draw a fair bit of current. Either way, I have them, so not worth...
