Thanks Matt. I figured it was CYA, but better safe than sorry. I like the idea of a filter as you described, but I can't use one now. Mine just has a filter in the tank as my pump is like the one in this pic. Maybe later I can get a different pump and rig something up.

Dredging up an old post for clarification. I'm assuming the parts washers being referred to have electric pumps for them, with a switch mounted on the outside of the tank. The warning label on the Crown PSC 1000 says to turn off all electric in your garage before using. I'm assuming that's a mfg...
