    Oh no, I painted it hammered black after I scrubbed it down.

    I power washed mine, then used Simple Green and Scottbrite green pad to scrub it.

    Thanks Frank - I did the spring adjustment. I'll check when I get home - I think I just locked it there when I used it. I was wondering about the stop lock - that's how it was when I picked it up. I'll flip that around too. Thanks again for all the advice.

    Finally finished the restore of my grandfather’s drill press. I was lucky...it was in great shape so really just needed a clean up. Didn’t have to replace bearings or do any motor work. I’m sure that would have given me troubles! Thanks to All, especially Frank, for all the advice...

    Finally got to work on my DP last night. Broke down nicely, even the column came out of the base easily! Don't have a lathe so I rigged this up to my drill to clean the base. 2" PVC jammed into the base well, then I used my heat gun to soften the PVC and clamped it to a hole saw bit...
