Distance between two garages facing each other.

To original poster - I have 40 feet between my doors and another building. This works for me because I have 20 foot wide doors and the buildings are slightly offset so two of my four bays are ahead of the other building.

That's cheating...you've got independent wheel brakes and a swiveling tail wheel...

    New shop or refinish barn?

The other nice thing about adding on is that you can get the storage space you want right away with relatively cheap pole barn type construction, then take your time renovating the existing building as time/money allows.

    New shop or refinish barn?

Sounds like you really want more space than existing building has. I was in very similar situation, property came with 32 x 36 and I added 36 x 48 on the end. Insulated/finished the original smaller portion for shop space and used the new part for unheated storage. The nice thing about this...

    Amazon chywanese cabinets

I have a bunch of cabinets like these that I got from Office Depot several years ago when they were about $200 apiece. I love them because they look good, are cheap, big enough to hold what I need and, because they are new, not beat-up, all matching color and don't need to be repainted...

How are you all hanging or storing garden tools?

Thanks, FJ Having it on casters helps. It normally lives in front of a pallet rack containing stuff I don't often access. When I do need to get behind it, I can just roll it out of the way, then roll it back.

What's on your walls? Neat storage ideas!

Gazza, thanks, that's just my clamp rack. Here is my welding table I built a long time ago... All those clamps you see piled up in the toolbox on the bottom shelf are the reason I built the clamp rack...

Not all on my walls and don't know if they're neat, but here are a few that work for me.

    Welding on a fridge?

I needed a new shop fridge last year so bought a Hissense from Lowes. Brought it home in a trailer and upon unwrapping it found exactly the same damage on yours. Plugged it in just to see if it would work and it did. Still, took it back for return, but this time, made them unwrap the...

Protective film for your sandblast cabinet. What do you use?

It's a little hard for me to say because I don't blast all that much, a project every few months or so. Taking a wild guess, maybe 6 or 8 hours of blasting time.

Protective film for your sandblast cabinet. What do you use?

I use clear acetate purchased by the roll from a craft store. I stick the edges down with duct tape.
