Yep, I was once beneficiary of such a disposal. Turned down a large genset, easy five figures, perhaps six, in a shipping container because I had no place to store and no way to move. Still kicking myself for not investing the time to figure that one out.

Amusing guy and a nice haul. Not sure I'd want to do this for a living. There is guy who patrols my neighborhood on trash collection day who sometimes has some interesting stuff aboard. I need to look closer into his haul when he stops here for my scrap.

Why a GFCI for a ceiling mounted fixture? A lamp holder with a receptacle show in post #2 seems a fine choice from here. Good ones will come from an electrical supply house, the ones at big orange etc. are garbage. I'd imagine the ones you can't lay a hand on until you own them from the jungle...

I ordered one that arrived today. It came in a rather important looking metal case missing two of the elements listed in the instructions. I dragged Mrs. Rust into the shop after explaining how these work. Sensing my enthusiasm she follwed me out to watch me attempt to heat an exhaust manifold...

Granted. The quality of the steel used for the fasteners seems to be what makes the difference. The Japanese stuff I see, mostly Toyota, rots and swells and is not sufficiently strong to endure the forces needed to remove them. Much moreso than the other crusty **** I regularly work on.
