Lots of the fasteners on my stock KTMs are dual drive - broached for internal torx with hex heads. Most of them are low torque application but it's nice to have two options for tooling when working on the trail. The broaching of the traditional hex head does make them lighter but stock ones...

I think you're right Cobbler. The current model single phase single-speed machines seem to run a 1700rpm motor into the machine's gear box so could probably just fit up a new 1725rpm flange mount motor with the right shaft if I had to.

Thanks Gents! looks like it might be an older version of the D-350. I think the electrical short is intermittent so hopefully just a switch or cord issue. I'll check it out in the morning!

looks like the sawdust deflector that mounts vertically inside the saw between the blade and you crotch would be the best way to describe it. The indented section is relieved for the blade elevation screw
