Yeah, I don't even collect Craftsman or work on monster trucks.

Yes, it's as you mentioned, the 1-1/2 is SK. Also, 1-3/16 (SK 47138) and 1-5/16 (Williams H-1242) are spot fillers

It's been a while since the estate sale gods shined so favorably upon me. A local sale 10 minutes away promised "lots of tools!", but from the photos, looked like 90% modern imports. There was one blurry photo, however, that promised something special (and more) - a BIG green Giller Tools socket...

We've chatted at a few sales - you recently helped me fend off an interloper trying to pick wrenches over my shoulder :)

I think I went to that same sale. Too pricey, but that didn't stop me from over-paying for a late-30s None Better S53 1/2" breaker and the beatup late-50s Blackhawk tool box you likely noticed and decided was overpriced (it was, but I've outgrown my current 'Blackhawk' box).

That's a really nice old Kennedy! (I'm one of the guys who couldn't find it :) )

Let's see your Billings and Spencer goodies

This bicycle wrench is so shiny I'm wondering if it's some kind of anniversary reproduction. Or is it really 125+ years old?

Old Snap On Socket Help "Hand Stamped Logo?"

Thanks, Don. I was using a chart similar to the second one you show, but I misunderstood the application of "G", thinking it was used for all government contract production during the war rather than just 1945 specifically.

Old Snap On Socket Help "Hand Stamped Logo?"

Ah, thanks. So, an "E" date code would represent 1944, and all other years are stylized numerals?

Old Snap On Socket Help "Hand Stamped Logo?"

Found this example of the uppercase "SNAP/on" logo (mentioned by OP) on a 3/8 to 1/4 drive socket. I'm guessing "G" indicates government use, but not sure if the the "|" is a number (1941?) or letter.
