    Craftsman Warranty Going Away?

Almost all of my hand tools are Craftsman because of their lifetime warranty. If it goes away, so does 1/2 their business. I hope they realize this and continue the lifetime warranty on hand tools.

    Impact wrench questions

Thanks for the advice everyone! I ended up buying a impact socket set from Harbor Freight. I was able to finally get all the lug nuts off my truck; I had to use a 18" cheater bar to loosen a few of them, but the impact wrench got off most of them. Thanks!

    Impact wrench questions

Harbor Freight impact sockets would be better than Craftsman chrome sockets? I just want to make sure, since I know Harbor Freight doesn't have very good quality tools. It is 3/8"

    Impact wrench questions

Cool! The compressor is a pretty decent one: http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_SessionID=@@@@1078670360.1167407378@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccieaddjkgjldjkcefecemldffidfjg.0&pid=00919541000&cat=Compressors+%26+Air+Tools&subcat=Air+Compressors+%26+Inflators&vertical=TOOL&ihtoken=1 I think it...

    Impact wrench questions

I got an air compressor and some air tools for Christmas, and I have a few questions. Although I have used air tools before, I have not done so very frequently. When trying to get the lugnuts off my truck, some are stuck, even when using the 1/2" impact to get them off. Is it dangerous to...

Going to pour garage floor soon....need advice!!

The standard 1/4" pitch is pretty mild, and should work for most things. I have a lift and a workshop in my garage, and haven't noticed any problems because of the pitch. It's not noticable at all, unless I'm washing my car, and then you can see the water very slowly running toward the front...

    Before paining new drywall...

I've never heard of a drywall sander before, but it sounds like a great idea. Is it pretty easy to use correctly?

    Wiring after insulation or before?

I would definately do electrical before insulation. Insulation is nasty stuff, and I'd rather be in as little contact with it as possible. When I built my garage, I did electrical first, even though I ran my EMT near the front of my 2x4s, and had to shove the insulation behind them.. It was...

    Oil-less vs. oiled air compressor

How frequent is the maintence required? If I only use the compressor once a month, is adding oil once a year sufficient? Do you just check a dipstick, or is checking the oil more involved than that?

    Oil-less vs. oiled air compressor

I was looking at Air Compressors at Sears, and almost all of their units are oil-less. They had only one < 60 gallon oiled compressor. I’m looking at getting a ~ 30 gal compressor, and wanted people’s opinions here. Two different sales associates told me they’re getting away from oiled...

New addition to my garage: A lift

I'm careful. I thought about putting a stop in there, but all my cars have different heights. I just pay attention to where the top of the car is in relation to the ceiling, and I won't hit it. I imagine even with your limit switch that you still pay attention to the ceiling, and only use the...

    lighting question

I used regular florescent fixtures in my old garage (located in northern Illinois). I didn't bother paying the extra $$ for low-temp rated ones. My garage was insulated and had a heater, but I rarely kept it heated. Even when it was cold out, the fixtures would turn on with no problem. They...

    Who designed/drew your garage?

I did the rough design, but had an architect make the specs.

New addition to my garage: A lift

I bought it from "Rack'm UP Distributors, Inc", who is a Mohawk authorized dealer. I paid a little over $5k total including installation and tax. I know that's more than many lifts, but this one really does have outstanding quality features. The columns are all 3/4" thick steel, and it uses...
