What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I started removing some cabinets in my garage for a light renovation - I'll be adding a new tall storage cabinet, a tool chest/workbench, and generally moving things around for more room and storage.

How many of you get by with a single bay

Mine is a 20'x20' two car - but I have a car parked on one side all winter. What are the actual dimensions? If it was 16' wide, I'm sure that would be no problem, especially if you could put up a shed for the lawn & garden equipment.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Did some maintenance on my wife's 2016 Jeep Rubicon. Oil change, tire rotation, and rear wiper sprayer that was leaking into the passenger compartment.

    About Bleeding Brakes.

I used a power bleeeder for the first time this past weekend and it was the easiest brake bleed I have ever done. I used the OMT Bleeder which is significantly less expensive than the motive...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Cleaned up most of it. It snowed here a week ago and I still haven't parked my summer vehicle.

The futility that is teflon tape

I always use tape, I can never get the liquid stuff to seal right. Might give it a go again with some the product recommendations on this thread though!

    How To Repair Vise?

Okay here's some pics. The first is just a shot of the vise itself. The second shows the hole in the screw shaft. The third pic is the handle itself. If you look closely you can see the remnants of the pin in the metal. I didn't check the diameter of the pin, but it's pretty hefty. I...

    How To Repair Vise?

I'll try to get pics tomorrow. It's definitely not a Wilton. My guess is that it's just a little hardware store vise.

    How To Repair Vise?

I've got an old vice that I inherited from my Grandfather. It's not fancy or particularly pretty, and it's not big. Last weekend I was tightening it down on something and the pin that holds the handle to the screw shaft sheared off. I didn't even know there was a pin there, but you can see the...

Floor or Bench Mounted Drill Press

I've decided to go with a floor model, thanks so much for all of the comments. I'm probably going to go with the one from Princess Auto that was posted here before, but they were all sold out, so I had to take a raincheck. In the meantime, I'll keep an eye out for a good used model. Not too...

    Truck fell off lift

When I was in high school I took auto shop. It was pretty common for the teachers to bring their cars into the shop for oil changes and small service items. One day the Principal brings in his full size van for some work. I was working on something else on the other side of the shop when I...

Floor or Bench Mounted Drill Press

Lilredex by PAL do you mean Princess Auto? They do have a press on cheap right now. Thanks for the tip

Floor or Bench Mounted Drill Press

Very interesting. Sounds like the standing press is probably a better idea then, for long term.

Floor or Bench Mounted Drill Press

I have always 'made due' with a regular hand drill, but I'm about to embark on a project that requires 14 holes to be drilled very accurately, and that means it's time for me to buy a drill press. I always figured that I should buy a floor mounted drill press, but they seem to have about the...

What 'lectric should I have put in My Tiny Garage?

I second the sub panel idea. If you ever trip a breaker, walking over to a panel is much easier than having to walk into the house and go down into the basement. 240 can certainly be used for a good compressor, but it will also run welders, table saws, ovens (for powdercoating) etc. It's a must...
