    Frost wall vs Floating Slab?

Do a search for frost protected shallow foundation (fpsf). I did my shed like that and it worked pretty well. I think it was 16 inch thick and edges and then a 4 inch slab with 2-inch foam underneath and extending out 2 Ft. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Anyone build a 2x72 belt grinder?

I'm in the build process for one of Jer's grinders. I used 1/2" material for the receiver material because it's what I had on hand. I also used a 6" vice a 4" drive wheel. The plans have been pretty good but there is not a lot of room to get a belt on with the 6" drive wheel. I also built a...

    Cost to ship a container.

With all of these responses it seems like a semi trailer or an enclosed trailer my be the better option. Can a heavy lift wrecker load a full container?

    Cost to ship a container.

Yes, my last move will be paid for up to 14klbs. I should have about 20k just in my shop. Mill, planers, jointer, bandsaw, welders, spindle sanders, grinders, drill presses.... I plan to have my house moved by the Navy but move the shop myself. Sent from my SM-T813 using Tapatalk

    Cost to ship a container.

I'm getting ready to retire from the navy in a year or so and will be moving from Jacksonville FL to South Bend, IN when I do. My plan is to pack up my shop into a 20' or 40' shipping container and have it shipped. Has anyone ever done this? What costs are involved besides the container? Roll...

Is a remote power meter possible plus amps....

I had my meter put on the wellhouse. 320a, then a 200A feed thru panel for the wellhouse (feeding thru to barn) and a 200A disconnect for future residence. Power company doesn't need to come back. None of this has solar so your needs may be different. Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk

Yes, same service. Plan is to run from the pole to the meter base at the shed and have two disconnects. One for the barn and one for the house. The house is not built yet so I'm not going to make that run yet, just preparing for the future house. For info purposes it's about ~120' from the...

    Conduit rough in

Marc, This is for my farm in Northern Indiana. The barn feed (200A) will be for powering three walk in coolers and all of my garage equipment including air compressor, welders, woodworking equipment and a future plasma table. The house will be a standard 200A service.

Here is the shed I was thinking of. I had originally just planned on a H frame for the electric and a combo meterbase and load center, but I need a conditioned space for the well equipment.

Ok, that solved half the battle. The POCO says 3" service riser and either a 3 or 3.5 Entrance run. The engineer has already been to the site and approved the 320 amp service. They will trench and lay the wire, I just need to the the meterbase and adjoining equipment ready. After doing a...

What is the ideal placement for the electrical service conduit in a slab? 320 amp service. Should I run 3" or 4" conduit? 18" below grade? Long sweep elbow and cap it? How far above the slab should I have it run? I'm also going to have runs to the house and barn with 200 amp...

    Plumbing / electrical shed

I had originally planned on installing a h frame for my electric service to feed my barn and future home. After talking to my well driller, pits are no longer allowed by code so my plan is to build a shed to house both my electric service and well plumbing/electronics so I can keep it above...

    New electric service question.

    New electric service question.

I talked to the engineer at the power company and he said they recommend using this: http://www.milbankworks.com/catalogs/u5890-5895.pdf Specifically I think I would want something like the U5892-X-2/200 Looking them up online though the panel alone is $1100-1300 bucks!
