New 400sf Epoxy Floor - White with No Flakes (Using AlphaGarage's CFLC System)

Definitely did a great job on this as a DIYer. White floors are challenging.

    Is grinding overkill MCU

The only way to really ensure a good bond is through mechanical preparation, so not doing that is going to be a risk. Even if it sticks, it is up to you whether you are okay seeing those trowel lines. MCU is applied very thin, so even the smallest imperfections are going to be visible...

    Coating for outdoor patio?

This is very important. OP has already gotten his done, but for others that may read this later, keep in mind that the product also has to have enough build to take advantage of flexible properties. Polyurea basecoat is applied at 4-5 mils typically...half of which is going to soak into the...

Best Densifier /sealer for working shop?

Anything that is a densifier and hydrophobic sealer all in one is a good option. I use a National Polymers' 7939. It's a sodium silicate and lithium silicate densifier in one. A five gallon pail is about $100-120 + shipping, but idk if they sell to the general public.

Anyone use Coval coating on their concrete floor?

It isn’t really anymore expensive as a DIYer vs epoxy or poly because even us installers don’t get price breaks on coval. The price is set by coval and distributors have to sell it for msrp which is $160/gallon last I purchased. Whereas I can get polyaspartic, epoxy, urethane, etc for...

Easiest way to coat the floor?

True. That or the rolls of gym mats if he's never going to park a car on it.

Easiest way to coat the floor?

If you're grinding there is no reason to etch. Just leaves residual contaminants in the floor that could break your bond. With a ground floor, the porous surface is going to **** up more material than an unprepped floor, so double any amounts the product tells you you can install. The linked one...

Another Wet Concrete Floor Thread ----- Need advice -------------

You can give this product a try: https://multicoat.com/product/vapor-shield/ I've had success with this in the past. Put it in a nasty wet basement in an 80 year old rental house I lived in and it dried the slab right up.

    Epoxy disappearing after throwing flake

Like Matty J, I am also in the Charlotte area and have used Duravel and estes flake in an emergency, but I don't make it a normal thing. Estes flake unfortunately is absolutely terrible. I've had it ruin a couple projects for me before because it absorbs moisture terribly. I can recovery...

    Garage Floor Coating Estimates

Must have been Renuity or TSR. They are big hedge fund owned companies charging $10+/sf. I'm in NC as well, and I would be about $3300 for a full poly system. I don't really know how those guys are closing jobs at $10/sf.

Floor coating for messy race car shop

I live in Charlotte, and have done the floors at a few race teams in the area. The big guys will have their floors done every few years, and I've heard Penske for example will have their floors redone every year to keep things looking good, but I don't know if that's true. It also helps to have...

Anyone use Coval coating on their concrete floor?

I've put down a lot of Coval, gloss will definitely be more prone to showing scratches than the satin or matte finishes. With gloss, you can use a fan tip sprayer and basically spray in straight lines, but with satin and matte, you'll want to use a cone tip. The bleach and deck HDX sprayers are...
