    24x24 garage planning

decided to move to build myself a garage. Amongst other reasons of course! I'm quite restricted being on a 33' wide lot. I'd like 4' on one side for taking out the garbage and getting bikes back and forth, and 8' on the other side to park outside/store whatever car I'm not using. That leaves me...

    Duff Mfg. Jack Stands

Sure, I agree technically that these might be safe as it tightens on the teeth under load. But this is not the concern. The concern is if anyone who spends that much on them actually used them. They would probably have jacked up their car from the radiator.

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT Woody's Works Garage

Nice job on the garage! Tons of great ideas here. I can't imagine implementing this many things in such short time, that's nothing short of amazing. I've got an even smaller space in progress, and it's like living tetris trying to reno my space with nowhere else to put things. I love what you...

With the handle it is 60" long

    Let's see your toolbox.

Same here.. Just bought a pair of these base cabs over Christmas. They are pretty solid and seem like good value at $700 each. More than enough for me at home. I picked up swivel casters to replace the rigid ones so I can move them straight out from the wall since everything is packed tight...

    blending metric and imperial

So Slow. but 3pm we're gone, nice new years treat.. If you remove the 13 <1% difference sizes, what's the sure ticket to getting them buggered? You will NEVER. EVER.* ****** a 5/16 nut with a 8mm socket, that wouldn't also have been buggered by the correct 5/16" socket in the first place. but...

    blending metric and imperial

This is for my main go-to drawer.. duplicates just get tucked away. Still, I don't have a lot of space. (and it seems Dec 31st is a very quiet day at work.. diminishing returns is a theme of the day) I’ve got my tools sorted in order of size including both metric and imperial, it seems...

    Anyone use Proslat slatwall?

I've got five boxes of 4x8 proslat panel strips in light grey and white to cover 100% of a wall from floor to ceiling. Rather than installing in exact 4x8 panels I was planning to stagger the panel strips like hardwood flooring so it's full width across the 21' garage wall. It'll depend how...

Lessons learned of a fire in the garage

Excellent advice! I learned this from my uncle, fair enough he was showing me how to weld in his shop. Would have been paranoid if I were him too! Now I'm consistent about staying in the shop an hour after almost any power tool work.. Anything that sparks! Wish I were as consistent about taking...

    metallic epoxy floor issue?

I suppose we will see. I have it now, will just have to report back on it later after some use. It's quite flexible, so scratches self heal. Dragging something super heavy across the floor might not hold up as well as polyurethane, but I bet it will hold up very well to dropping stuff.

    metallic epoxy floor issue?

He was pretty good about doing the metallic layer again. Its now the same pattern everywhere thank goodness. But its not the more dramatic cloudy look I was expecting. The particulate streaks are less pronounced on this second metallic coat but still there. I wonder if they are using old or...

    This guy's home garage...home to my BMW's

Ha, looks like we have the same motivators. I've got another month to d day and lots to do.. Nice choice of rides, I had the bwm jeep combo too, missing them both now.

    metallic epoxy floor issue?

The contractor disagrees with Cee's statement above that the particulate streaks have anything to do with mixing:
