Tusen takk - lokalet fungerer veldig bra. Greit å beholde noe graffiti, men trenger å ha det lyst for å se hva jeg holder på med. Thank you very much - it is very functional. Okay to keep some graffiti, but I need the brightness to see what I'm doing

Garage in a disused factory in Norway

So, been a while since the last post, but the next step is to better utilize the loft. My plan is to create some shelves there where I can store parts dismounted from the car I'm working on. It is nice to have the interior and glass out of the car if it is much welding and grinding. So my next...

Also got help from the electrician to get the power for the lamps installed. Gave me very good worklight below the loft. I'm very satisfied. I have also blocked the joists as arsco suggested to do to avoid them from twisting.

So next step will be to utilize the space in the loft by making some shelves, but first of all I need to get rid of the dust on the walls and clean the place up a little bit.

Garage in a disused factory in Norway

Had to try with some of my cars in the garage as well to get an impression of where i can place shelves and workbenches and still have the possibility to work and go around the cars. The space is limited, but with some planning and getting inspiration from some of the other threads here at...

Thanks for your nice words! I have some lamps with fluorescent lighting, next thing to do is to get them up there under the ceiling and get them connected.

So, a little more progress with the garage. The loft and the stairs are ready, but before I start dragging in tools and furniture I'm not very happy with the floor. The floor itself has a very even surface, except some scratches at one position from the forklifts driving there. But it is...

Thanks welder57 - I guess you mean the Hymer pictures above? They are taken at following locations: Pic 1 - At the ferry dock in Rødby Denmark, waiting for the ferry to bring us to Puttgarden in Germany. Pics 2, 3 and 5 are taken at Høvringen in Rondane National park in Norway. They are taken...

Become vary found of the Hymer. If I do a build thread I will for sure post a link :) Will for sure try to keep up with updates. Even if I live in the southern part of Norway, the summer is on the move, but then again will give more garage hours ;)

Garage in a disused factory in Norway

We are 6 persons that have got together to rent a small part of this factory building. I found a sketch we used to illustrate where to create the doors etc. It is completely out of scale, but can help to give a indication of the floorplan. Most of the walls were already up. I have the bottom...

Garage in a disused factory in Norway

Thank you. It have been different opinions about the graffiti. I think it is cool, but it was quit dark and disturbing the surfaces. I have come to that age when I need good lighting to be able to work properly, so I'm pleased with painting most of it in white and keeping the green door with...

Thanks for your comment! The mezzanine is also bolted to the walls on three sides. The engineer I consulted advised me to set up support beams only on the left wall in the pictures, but I put them up on both sides, just to be sure. I see your point by supporting each floor joist, but it would...
