I have a standing seam metal roof on my RV garage/workshop with a 7/12 pitch. Pretty good snow fall (middle of NH) and it always slides off once the sun comes out. I don't think I would do anything less.

That's the size I used for my RV bay (40' class A motorhome). Also, the garage has 16' height so there is room to get up on the RV roof when needed.
