Part One -a tour of Strange Days

Chaz... wondered where you've been. I PM'd you way back in 2006 about some of your ideas. My shop is still a work in progress but I'm attaching some pics for you to see. I appreciate your encouragement back then. Hugh Hawkins

santagary...I sparingly used the aluminum oxide that came with the coating. I mean use "sparingly".. I have no slipping issues at all. Too much, however, will make the floor hard to wipe with a loose rag or cloth. Mopping or a heavy towel/washrag is never a problem. The cheap shop rags are! The...

The poll says that you garage folks want some detailed pics of the floor. Well since I have them, here they are.

santagary.. I take your comments as positive, I think! No Peterbilts though. Yes it's a large "shop" area, but stuff accumulates quicker than you would think, and the space gets full. Now the climate-controlled "garage" side is just over 2750 sq.ft. I have 5 tons of a/c and heat which is more...

Cobra4B.. If that's you in the pic, I believe I should send whatever you request!! LOL.. Anyway here are a couple more shots of 2 of my current garage "tenants". I have a couple more that are " a little sick and away from home for now", so their pics will come when they return from the "hospital".

Hey Gene... The way NHRA treats the sportsman racers today, the assisted living center is probably an improvement!! My shop survived thru Hurricane Rita and Hurricane Ike. I have storm rated garage doors that the wind literally wore some areas in the door frames from the back and forth...

Ok all you garageaholics..here is what I can get for now from my c-drive. Hope you like 'em. My memory-stick is at the office, so I'll post more later. In answering some of the questions posed, the garage is in southeast Texas. The driveway only is 20' wide and 920' long, not including the 4000...

The pump is a genuine restored 1950's Gilbarco Tall. The globes are all repro's from gaspumpheaven.com .. have you priced the vintage globes lately? Just too expensive for me.. It still hurts from paying what I did for the genuine gas pump. Folks that say they always buy the "real thing"...
