So what is the deal with the 'bird poop' coating on the inside? I have 1/2" drive 12 pt sockets from both craftsman and wright. Both have the same coating on the inside, with some globby stuff. There is chrome underneath, it shows once the coating wears when the socket is used. I have 3/8...

Anyone have personal experience with the Genius torx sockets recommended by Chadster?

So the consensus is go the used Snap On. These would be my first SO tools. No truck comes around where I work - is it pretty easy to just warranty through the mail?

I'm looking to get some bit sockets - hex and torx. For about the same $$ I can buy used Snappy or new from brands like proto, wright, williams. What is the better choice. The SO's look pretty good but do show some wear (a little rounding) here and there.
